3rd - 6th School Recreational
The HYL 3rd-6th Grade School Recreational League is designed to introduce, teach, and reinforce the fundamentals of basketball to beginners and inexperienced players. Players will be teamed up with their classmates and school friends to create the most enjoyable and fun basketball experience possible.

TEAM FORMATION
Teams are formed based on player's gender, grade, and current school they are attending. We will match your player up with their classmates and school friends, further strengthening current relationships and building school spirit all while learning the game of basketball and have fun playing!
*We allow players to request coaches, coaches to request players, AND encourage parents to coordinate with each other to create teams within the school-based formation guidelines.
GAMES
- The season begins November 1st and runs through December 13th and 14th.
- Games are played at local Middle School gyms
- Each team will play 7 games (5 regular season and 2 Final Four games) during the season.
- All games are on Saturday, except the final game fo the Final Four will be played on Sunday, December 14th)
PRACTICES
- Each team will be provided 1 x 1-hour practice a week at a local elementary school.
- Practices times are dependent on the coach's availability and gym coordination and scheduling with the local school districts.
JERSEYS
To keep your costs low, High Quality reversable HYL jerseys will be issued to the coaches at the beginning of the season and turned back in by the players following the final game.
GAMES PLAY AND RULES
- Games will be played on 10-foot rims using 28.5 (size 6) size basketballs.
- Games consist of 4 x 8-minute quarters.

Registrations are eligible for the DISCOUNT fee if household income is less than the following:

Registration deadline: First come, First serve, Final deadline to register is Sept. 15th.
